Remakes
What's up with all the remakes. Has everybody except Rick Strickland stopped writing songs. I have never heard a remake that was as good as the original, ie Gonna Win You Back, No More Cloudy Days, Is the Magic Still There, I could never miss you more than I do, I've Got The Fever
. These were the polished songs that stood out and took major effort to write and produce.

The Lakeside Drive Band from Belmont,NC has released only originals with very good results. Both "Candy Girl" and "Still In Love With You" have done well and a new original will be out by Spring SOS.

I hear it over and over again from the venues..."the fans want to hear cover songs". Not me...I love to hear a band play original stuff. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the familiar covers, too. But for me...hats off to the bands that dare to play their original music.

The new song on Forevermore Records by the great Russell Thompkins, Jr. entitled "If I Only Had Three Wishes" is an original song and is garnering much play at Spring SOS 2012!!

Lakeside Drive Band will be releasing it's third original song, "Let Em Roll" next week. We'll be sending it out to DJ's and beach stations very shortly. Let us know what you think of it.
